Volunteers spend 4,280 hours for work on projects during Foothills United Way Day of Caring.
More than 1,070 volunteers from 35 area businesses and organizations donated 4,280 volunteer hours to tackle projects for nonprofits in Boulder and Broomfield counties on Sept. 9, the 22nd Day of Caring hosted by Foothills United Way.
The projects included repacking food for needy families and individuals at Community Food Share, refurbishing a playground at the City of Boulder Parks & Recreation, sprucing up the garden and building at the Center for People with Disabilities and much more.
In total, 47 organizations benefitted from the work, at an estimated value of more than $110,000.
